Adelyn These Days

Adelyn will be 20 months on Wednesday. She seems to be growing each day, more with things she can say and do than height and weight :)

  • She can now say (at least what I understand her to say): Daddy, night night, shoe, shell, thank you, hi, bye. I am certain there are more, but for some reason as I am writing, I cannot think of them!

  • She is able to go down the stairs (almost) by herself. Nana taught her to sit on her bum and scooch down one step at a time, she is doing so well at it!

  • She understands everything, now. There is very little we can slide past her!

  • She has entered a minor phase of the terrible two's... when something does not go her way, she lets you know how she feels about it, LOUDLY.

  • When at the play ground, she can go down the slide by herself. I guess she learned how to sit at the top of the slide and pull herself forward to go down while at daycare.

I am sure there are other new things she is doing, but again, i have no idea what since I see her on a daily basis :) Below are some pictures we have taken around town since we got our camera fixed!

We went to the 'pumpkin patch' to pick out a pumpkin for carving. Adelyn found these small ones and decided she would line them up, one by one.

Still the best $10 ever spent :)

    Disney World!!

We had so much fun this weekend taking Adelyn to Disney World for the first time. I forgot how much I love that place and, as cheesy as it might be, I got a little choked up when we first entered thinking back on all of the memories I have growing up and excited for Adelyn to start making hers. Mama Alice and Daddy Joe were at their time share for the week and invited anyone and everyone to come on down and stay with them. Since its only a 2.5 hour drive, we left after Paul got off work on Friday and got down there around 8. We decided that since we only had one day at the parks we would, of course, do Magic Kingdom. We got in around 930, while a parade was going on (they are celebrating their 40th birthday) so we hit 'The Adventures of Whinnie the Pooh', 'Dumbo' and 'Its a Small World' before ANY lines began forming, it was wonderful. Adelyn did not know where to look, she just kind of stared in awe. We could tell she enjoyed it because of the grin on her face :) Lines began forming rather quickly so we got 'fast pass' tickets, allowing us to return to the ride in about an hour and bypass the whole line. We used this for 'Peter Pan', 'Splash Mountain' (for mommy and daddy), and the 'Jungle River Cruise. Unfortunately the Swiss Family Robinson Island was closed for refurbishment and Thunder Mountain was closed about the time we were going to get in line for technical difficulties. We never had time to go on Space Mountain or The Haunted Mansion, unfortunately. We went on Pirates of the Caribbean for our last ride. I think, since it was dark, it scared Adelyn a little bit. All in all, it was a wonderful day. The highlight for Adelyn? A balloon. She tried to take balloons off of strollers all day long so as we were leaving we got one for her- she has not let it out of her sight. She tried to sleep with it last night, woke up ate breakfast with a death grip on the strings this morning and has not let go. Its cute :) We cant wait to take her back!

    Dumbo!

We met Chip & Dale, she was a little scared. We never saw Mickey or Minnie.

    The balloon

Sunday before checking out, we decided to go for a quick swim at the hotel pool. Thankfully it was heated because it was COLD outside (a fact that did not seem to bother Adelyn)
