Slacking a bit?

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is gearing up for a happy new year as well! We spent our holiday in Canton, GA with Paul's family; but not before doing a Moerman family Christmas here, friday morning, followed by a mini-Laws family Christmas friday afternoon, before jetting off to Canton. Adelyn loved every second of it! She definitely knows how to unwrap a present :) We loved being able to spend so much time with family and are very thankful for everything we received! We had a lot of fun, so much so, Adelyn decided to stay in Canton with Nana and PopPop and her cousins, Alix and Clare for the week. Paul and I are leaving today for Charlotte, where we will be spending NYE with his siblings. The whole crew from Canton will also be meeting us there so that we can have a proper new years day feast!
I realized that I havent posted ANY photos since Thanksgiving, so here is a small photo montage for you:

Adelyn These Days

I haven't done a 'what's Adelyn up to?' post in a while, and she has definitely picked up some new things lately. Here goes....
  • vocabulary: it is expanding daily! Here are some new(er) words she says- kitty, dog, frog, cow, sky, out/inside, hair, head, ear, eye, cheek, mouth, jacket, duck, nap, night, sky. I am certain there are more, but I really cannot think of them off the top of my head.
  • language: she is learning spanish and english at school and often times when asked a question at home she replies with a 'si (yes)' or an 'aqui (here)'. Last night during bathtime she took a poop in the tub (gross, I realize). Paul got her out of the tub and we pointed and said, 'Adelyn, did you go stinky stinky in the bath', she got a huge grin on her face and said, 'SI'.
  • Animals: as mentioned above, she is able to say most animals when asked. Chick-fil-a sponsors many shows on PBS and when the cow comes on the TV during the commercials she points and says "COW" over and over until you acknowledge that she did, in fact, see a cow. She is also infatuated with frogs- we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom on Sunday and in one of their exhibits there was a large African Bullfrog, I tried to get a picture of the largest grin that spread across her face when she saw it. And, when asked what said animals say, she usually responds with a correct answer - moo, eeoww (meow), bbit (ribbit), cack (quack), oof (woof)
  • She is also able to remove her diaper- something I am not remotely excited about when the time for potty training arrives.
  • Tantrums- she has reached the inevitable stage of tantrum throwing. Most of the time I laugh when she flings herself to the ground in a fit of rage, I know I shouldn't, but its funny. I usually just let her cry it out and she forgets what she is upset about after a couple of minutes. Hopefully it won't get any worse :)
I think thats all from our budding naturalist. NOTHING is safe anymore. She gets into everything imaginable. And her memory is getting better by the day.
