Weaning

Its offical! Adelyn has stopped nursing. It is a little bitter sweet for me, but I know that it is time. I am amazed at how quickly my body adjusted. I feel almost back to normal! Adelyn seems to be adjusting fairly well also. There are moments when she tries to nurse, but I give her a sippy cup with milk and a book and she seems to accept them. Speaking of sippy cups, Adelyn may be the laziest baby girl I know. She will hand me her cup so that I hold it for her to drink from. She knows how to do it, she just does not want to. Once, I caught her laying her cup on the chair (which is about head height) and drinking from it while she stood. It is really funny.

In other news, now that the weather is beautiful and the back yard has been sodded, we are spending more and more time outside. While I was in Tampa with girlfriends last weekend, Adelyn played in the backyard for 2-2.5 hours while Paul, Nana, PopPop, Mama Alice and Daddy Joe watched. I am glad to know she had plenty of fun in my absence. She has also started climbing on everything, including Buck. She tries to get on the couch, out of the tub, up stairs, anything, really. She is also talking all the time now. At the moment, it is mostly just rambling, and no real words, but I think she will be talking in sentences before long.

I have also started looking into part time day care because we think she needs more socialization and stimulation than Buck and I can give her. I know she will love it once we decide on where and how often.
